01 NEO PALPUS O - CROCS [CONCEPT DESIGN] “DUNE ” ERR.CODE “4.0”
DOC 234—34/2

THE DUNE 4.0 is my approach to modern concept footwear. The goal was to preserve the dynamic expression found in today’s footwear but not sacrifice comfort.

I came into this project knowing I wanted the shoe to feel as if you were stepping into sand. Like a warm comforting hug. So an ergonomic outsole and footbed were key.

Then came the idea of how to present the sensation of RIPPLES OR WAVES within the footwear. Not just visually but also to the senses.

A lot of these colors were leaning into biomimicry which is a huge factor in my design. Taking inspiration from natural pearls of different regions. Specifically Akoya, Tahitian, Abalone & Baroque.
